Meet Jessica

Hello there, thanks for popping in to say hello!

To say I have always had an interest and passion for creative arts when I look back over the years would not be completely accurate.  In fact my real passion was and still is cooking and Food Technology.  Shortly after I completed my HSC I had applied to join the RAAF (Royal Australian Airforce) with hopes of serving as a chef.  It’s funny to see how life works out and how life experiences change us.  For me, becoming a mum for the first time in 2013 changed me forever and the person I once knew was gone.

I never truly developed an interest for craft until becoming a mum.  My first born daughter inspired me to want to create her cute little outfits.  That is when I decided to learn to sew and made my first toddler dress.  From then my interest in craft grew more and more and turned into another passion of mine.

My beautiful family consists of my husband Clay and our two adorable little girls Isabella Violet and Scarlett Rose.  My girls are my two little besties and make living life a lot of fun.  There is never a dull moment that’s for sure!  I absolutely love family time and one thing we love doing as a family is going away on camping trips in our camper trailor!

We also have two little furbabies that form part of our family.  Lulu our ever-so-cute Pug who turns 10 this year and Cocoa our beautiful Mini Lop Bunny.

In 2017 our youngest daughter Scarlett Rose was diagnosed with Autism and Global Developmental Delay.  News that completely changed our world.  Our family didn’t really know much about Autism but the journey we have been on has been amazing and opened our eyes up to the beautiful and interesting world of Autism.  We are very blessed to have access to intensive early intervention as our daughter Scarlett has come such a long way because of this.

Nearly 4 years ago I was made redundant the Corporate job which I held for 8 years.  At that stage in my life I was also on maternity leave with my second daughter Scarlett.  I decided to take a leap of faith and start a business to see how far it could go with my new interest in craft.  Over the course of 4 years Made With Love By Jessica has evolved.  In the beginning I hand poured all the white pillar candles that I would use to then decorate.  I sewed baby rompers, made scented candles and melts, held market stalls and candle parties.  I also took to the local shopping centre on a casual lease basis to advertise and sell my products.  Made With Love By Jessica entered in the Local Business Awards for 2017 and 2018 where we became Finalists both years. In July 2019 I signed my first contracted lease and opened my first off-site studio for 6 months at the Creative Fringe where I started to take appointments for customers to come in and see our collection before ordering online.  This was yet another awesome experience which taught me a lot.  With all these experiences I have been able to see what works best for me with my lifestyle, my family committments and my business structure.  I now happily work entirely from home between my office and my workshop.

Made With Love By Jessica is now a one stop shop where we sell Personalised Keepsake Candles, Embroidered Towels, Dress Hangers, Trinket Boxes, Keepsake Boxes, Scented candles used as gifts or Bonbonnieres, Cake Toppers, Baptism/Christening Dresses and Gowns, Baptism Stoles, Wedding and Memorial items.
